Nice site! Came across it in a Google Search.
I recently refinished a beat up antique dresser I had bought about 13 years ago for my first apartment as an undergrad in Boston. I noticed the "French & Heald" stamps inside and was wondering if anyone knew whether and how I could find more information on when it was produced given the image, wood, style, etc. No interest in selling it, just seeking information. Thanks!

WOW! the Milford, N. H. web page has changed since I added a message several years ago.
I lived in Milford from 1946 until 1956 and worked in the Public Service Company office on the Oval, lived at 11 Crosby Street, and my sister just added a message to this web page. We both enjoyed the pictures and the memories associated with the scenes.
I noted the name of Marion Blanchard Kopp, one of my dear friends. Nancy Fitch Schooly's father worked at the Public Service Company. Darius Robinson was a high school classmate of my brother, Clyde Lusk.
I wonder if anyone remembers my family.

I lived in Milford from birth (1947) until my family (Lusk) moved to Florida. I haven't been back since, but it was wonderful to see the pictures and take a trip down memory lane. We lived at 11 Crosby Street.I wonder if the house is still there?

What a great site to explore and share with people who were born in Milford I me and, people who have moved in over the years. I was born in Milford in 1953 and grew up in a wonderful large Victorian Duplex on 119 Nashua Street with the two loves of my life Rena & Tulio Bianchi my grand parents and countless other cousins in East Milford from Italy and Ireland.
Weekend cookouts with many family neighbors where the norm and a way to listen and learn my heritage and birth right. I learned to play baseball from my dad at a very early age at a baseball field on Nashua Street no more than 300 yds from my home. And baseball, basketball and soccer skills were developed on this same field and in the backyards of my life long grade school and high school I grew up with.
I moved away from Milford in 1975 when I graduated from the University of New Hampshire and for the last 34 years have lived in Massachusetts and enjoyed a multiple business career.
I may have left Milford, but my heart has always remained there and with many people I have had the chance to grow up with that are still living in Milford. I have a great deal of fondness for Milford and getting the opportunity to see historical pictures of this wonderful town and its people with a long history is always worth looking forward to see.
In the future I will scan some of the historical images I have from Milford and will send them in for inclusion on this website.

I am visiting my mom (89 years old) in a nursing home in Concord. I haven't lived in New Hampshire since I left in 1969. I love it here though. One day I might move back. FOr the last 30-40 years I have worked as a journalist, teacher and theatre director. sounds more glamorous than it is. My favorite memories though of are fooling around with my pals in Amherst and Milford and riding horses on our farm.My brother, wayne, is doing well and is a park ranger in Colorado. Eric passed away in 1975 after he graduated from Princeton. I am in New Haven, ct. would love to hear from you.

Thanks for the excellent collection. After living in Milrod from 1956 to 1978 it is fascinating, upon return, to see how many have left and how they have gone so far away. Came back summer of '08 to rededicate my parents'/grandparents' gravesite at Riverside. The town is a jewel which I did not come to appreciate until long after I whipped around the oval on my bike. The Stickney building on the north side is named after my grandparents.

My great grandfather, Alonzo Hill, died in a furniture factory accident in April 1899 in Milford. My grandfather, Frank Lester Hill attended school in MIlford. His mother and grandmother worked in the community I am researching this family and the Crams and Holts families of Milford. I am looking forward to visiting there soon.

I lived in Milford on Valhala Dr. from 1971-1979 I love the town of Milford and have always considered it my home. I think my grandfathers construction company built alot of the houses in that neighborhood (Veno Construction) I would love to hear from anyone who remembers the Chambers family.

I was checking out the site again. I found a picture of one of my brothers from when he was younger. It was a grade school picture. It sure put a smile on my face. He was right next to Jim Fowler who I do remember from my younger years as a child. Thanks for the memory. This sure is a great site to reflect back on. Even though all my family has all moved away from Milford. It will always be home to me. I grew up there all my life. Haven't been back in many years. Some day I would love to come back and visit. Looking for information on Nancy (Lovejoy) Shattuck b. 1781 Pepperell, MA, m. Amaziah Shattuck in 1799, in Pepperell. They moved to Milford in 1814. Amaziah d. Milford in 1833, Nancy died in 1821 two years after the birth of her 13th child.

I happened to find this site while I was looking back at the past on the web . There are some " flashbacks of the past " on this site . Every time I drive thru milford I think of the good time I had there and still look for familiar faces in town . Wonderful site - I have many fond memories of the town, my mother worked right in town for Harlan Holt Ins for years, always got my haircut at Dick;s Baber shop, good memories of cruising the oval with guys like Ralph Smith who is gone now. I remember walkikng across the oval in 1871, in uniform after returning from Vietnam. Thanks for the memories. Keep the photos coming, it is very much appreciated.
