second cousin. She remembers great times playing with your father
as a child but hasn't seen him in a long time.

Graduated from Milford Area Senior High in 1981. Now live in Lunenburg, MA. My folks and grandparents all grew up in Milford. I'm sure they would remember alot of these places as they were. Thanks for the great site. Very interesting!

seeking information on Charles S. Emerson and his brother Harry Emerson who it seems donated the land for Emerson Park in Milford, NH. I believe I am related to them and want to find birth and death dates and other vital stats.

Very interesting photos. They brought back many pleasant memories - nostalgia time. I was born in Milford, NH and, during the late 40s and early 50's, attended Milford's Junior and Senior High Schools.

I recognized many of the people in Ed Romney's photos - were we ever so young looking? The photos of gone-by buildings are a real treasure - French & Healds, The White Elephant Shop, The Milford Inn, etc.

It is great that you have created this website. Thanks for your efforts.

I currently reside in Fort Washington, MD - a suburb SE of Washington, DC.

What a great idea. I was born and raised in Milford and have nothing but the most fond memories of Milford. I grew up there in very safe times, in the 50's. I used to walk my baby sister to Jims Store every day after school. I'll never forget the penny candy section. My sister suggested that we put a picture of Lorden Lumber (my father and his brothers company) on line. We still have it. Dave Nichols and I live in the same town of Durham and only recently discovered it. I went to school with him. Thanks for the memories.

Great site and content. Became aware through the Telegraph article last evening.

Suggestion and my pet peeve: When older photos are shown, it is always even more enjoyable when current "occupant" is identified. For example, the Hayward Farm photo. I think it is Agway, but am not postitive.

We've been in area since 1971. I wish I had taken "before" and "after" photos -- after construction, it is so hard to remember what was there.

Keep up the great work!!

What a wonderful site.we own Humble Pie, in the exact location of the old White Elephant.
and have been looking for some good old pictures of our location to hang in the store.
Milford was and is a beautiful town, you should some day publish a book of
old Milford pictures.just pictures and their description.what a great
gift for the locals!! Thank you!!

Great! Well worth several tries to access photos today; interesting and impressive. Publicity = popularity must have slowed site. We're working (volunteers) on similar project in Hollis: old & new photos, written history, GPS'd sites, maps, documents, & sound files all linked. The time involved: variety of material & getting permissions of all property owners to be in this section of Hollis Town web site means we're not quite up & running yet. Many congrats to you on your site & its growing contribution. Also to Milford on its "Main Street Award" & achievements. Isn't it fun finding all these treasures? Relatives of Nevins and Monson may be interested in Sargent Museum's archeological study of 2nd Wm. Nevins homestead, still in Monson but E of Monson Ctr. - part of our survey; our two towns are connected!.

We love your website. We moved here in 1999 and I have done
some research on our "old" house. It was built in 1854 and
is thought to be the Charles Weaver House. Today the
address is 37 Cottage Street. Do you have any pictures or
information on the McIntires Soap factory? It was located
on Cottage Street.
Thanks Deanne Carr

Wonderful to be able to see,on-line, the town in The USA,
where our daughter, and our two grand-daughters live.

They live about 200 yards from The Carey House, and we walk
past it when we walk into Milford, when we are over in America.

Her name is Jakki Garber. She lives at No.77 Union St.

Love from England

my husband and I are very interested in locating in the State of New Hampshire when we retire - it is our mutual dream to own and operate a bed and breakfast that would be easily accessible to the mountains (for skiing), water (fishing) and would have enough land to be able to allow ourselves and our guests to do some cross-country skiing, etc.
Thank you. Anne C. Charron

Neta Hutchinson Fulkerson | neta-bobf@mo-net.com
I had many distant relatives who lived in Milford. My great-great-grandfather was Jacob Flynn who was for many years a selectman on the town counsel in the late 1700's and early 1800's. I also have many Hutchinson relatives who lived there. One was Nathan Hutchinson, a very early resident, in fact one of the earliest when the town was Monson. I have been doing a lot of genealogy research in Hillsborough county as there were several families in which I am interested that lived in that county. I am also distantly related to the famous Hutchinson singers.

I am viewing your site because my daughter, her husband and their two children just relocated there. They have found a place to rent in the mountains and hope to buy a house when they sell their place in Peoria, Illinois. I'm looking forward to visiting with them and seeing your area. From the web site and from what my daughter has told me, it sounds like a very beautiful place to raise a family. I live in Louisiana (Baton Rouge) and that is where my daughter and her husband grew up.
